CLIENT: The Ballas
Family
PROJECT LOCATION: Scarsdale, NY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Complete front yard landscaping makeover -
Enlarge existing driveway from one to two car wide, which included removal
of a large tree stump (see before picture), a "dry" apron built with jumbo
Belgium blocks completely set over white stone dust (instead of the
conventional cement base and joints). Belgium blocks on one side of
the driveway ("dry look" technique also used, no cement in between, just
under and behind), and more prominently, is the retaining Connecticut dry
stone wall on the adjoining side, featuring the most natural looking,
flagstone top friendly stairs! Most noticeable are the thin treads and
the stacked-up stones risers... Flagstone for the porch area, drainage
work, blacktop entire driveway were also part of scope of work What
truly make this project stand apart is that cement was used everywhere, but
your eyes cannot detect any of it!!! Just bring on the shrubs and the
flowers!!!
