* PROJECTS IN THE WORKS *
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* UPCOMING PROJECTS * Two out of the three "drop dead gorgeous" walk-out lower levels (formerly referred to here as "basements") are featured here today, with the last one coming soon -we're just waiting for more furniture -come back soon. We are also working on large full-scale remodel -rebuild would be a better word- where the existing kitchen and a few smaller rooms were gutted to make room for a larger kitchen with a eat-in area. The bathrooms, all five of them, were also completely gutted. Several rooms of this 1920's colonial home were re-arranged or enlarged. The master suite will have all the bells and whistles. Needless to say, the homeowners and their three small children had to be relocated for six months. This challenging project will be featured in our next newsletter. Stay tune... Come back every week and click on What's New for our latest posting... ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* NEWS OF INTEREST * New on our web site: our "own"
Google search engine. With several hundred pages and counting on our
web site, it was time to facilitate and accelerate the access to the
pages.

Here's why TV's "remodeling porn" is
bad for remodelers and their clients.
Well, it seems Jonathan Ward is not the only one with choice words. Anita Baltimore, who is the current president of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), wrote the following article for Kitchen & Bath Business. Here's an excerpt: "Reality" shows have saturated television programming, especially in the area of home and garden design. You can "trade spaces" with a neighbor, enlist a professional to recreate a high-end designer room on a budget or secretly call in a design team to remake a room as a surprise for a loved one. This makes for compelling television-watching, especially when the transformed spaces and the shocked reactions of the room makeover "victims" are revealed. But these reality shows are not real. They do little to showcase the benefits of working with professional interior designers who can help you "trade spaces," "change rooms" or "design on a dime," but better."
The best technologies for indoor comfort and energy efficiency. A gem of an article. See for yourself why. Make sure scroll all six short pages. From This Old House magazine. Reclaimed pine plank,
engineered exotic -- the choices in wood flooring just keep growing.
Choosing the Right Kitchen Countertop With the number of countertop choices growing, you can mix and match materials to create a unique combination of colors, textures, and functions.
A designer shares six lessons that apply to any home.

* HAVE A $100 DINNER ON US Are you aware that
your recently completed project became "Our Working Showroom"* and you have
become "Our Best Salesperson"? When your support
results into a signed project with us, we will show our gratitude to those who recommend
us and to those of you who open their doors to let one of our prospective customers see
"the Working Showroom"*. We'll send you to
dinner at one of Westchester's premiere restaurants, Peter Pratt's Inn, on us! (A $100
value. Good for a la carte dining, Tuesdays
to Sundays). Peter Pratt's Inn
was recently awarded a four star rating by Gerry Dawes, a writer for The Journal News. You can find out more by visiting the web site,
Peter Pratt's Inn.com.
You'll be able to review the menu and wine list, and even get directions. We
recommend printing the map. Bon Appetit! *What WE call a "Working Showroom" is an actual, real, functional project (i.e.: kitchen, bathroom) that has been built around existing conditions, restrictions and obstructions, as opposed to those setup showrooms found in retailer's displays where the only limitation is the designer's imagination! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
