Waste Not, Want Not
"How are we going to do all
that?"
- Not the most
inspiring of words, but designer Lois Horan, of Crown Point Cabinetry in
Claremont, New Hampshire, admits that it's just what she wondered while
standing in the tiny kitchen of Gina and Ian Smith's 1920s cottage-style
home...
- Kitchen & Bath,
Spring 2008 Issue. Currently available in newsstand. |

Lewisboro Master Bath
Swapping around the
vanity and the tub made a world of a difference. This bathroom is not
larger, it just feels that way. Bigger windows, an all-glass shower
enclosure, heated floors, high-efficiency insulation, all played a part in
this now cozy retreat. The vanity, mirrors & the tub panels were
custom design & built by Absolute. |

Why Go Green?
Homeowners who choose to remodel green lower their
energy consumption by 30-50%.
It's also easier on the earth, and it provides a much healthier home in
which to live. It also increases the value of the home, and
increases productivity of its occupants.
So, shouldn't the question be, why not go green?!?
The Not So
Big Life
The bigger-is-better idea that triggered the
explosion of McMansions in home design has spilled over to give us McLives.
In her bestselling Not So Big House series, Sarah Susanka showed us how to
change the way we live by adjusting the physical space we inhabit.
Now, in The Not So Big Life, Sarah takes her revolutionary philosophy a
giant step further by showing us how to change the way we live by fully
inhabiting each moment of our lives.
