How does this kitchen look and feel larger?
1- A 36" stove was too large for this tiny kitchen; it was downsize to 30".
2- A microwave / hood combo was called for to maximize counter space.
3- Light color cabinets, like light color clothing's makes a person look larger, makes
this kitchen appear larger.
4- There is almost twice as many cabinet doors as before, but just 50% more storage space;
by reducing the size of the doors [also cabinet frames] and instead multiply them, you
create the 'illusion' of having more cabinets, therefore more space!
5- Deeper countertop.
6- Patterned countertop [tiles]
7- Diagonal pattern for floor tiles.
8- More efficient lighting.
9- Light color painting.
What is the end result of combining all of these little tricks together? a kitchen 'twice
as big'!
