CLIENT NAME: Barry H. Although already a walk-out basement, not much thought was given to this basement when the home was built. Two oil tanks had to be relocated from one end of the basement to the other, resulting in perhaps the best feature of this basement, which is the amount of natural light that was added; Cutting part of the concrete foundation was also a necessary step to make room for all the new doors and stationary panels, all and all fifteen of them, each one three foot wide!!! The extensive wet bar area includes a dishwasher, an ice maker, wine refrigerators and a built-in microwave. Other finishing touches includes several custom built-ins, stained oak bar, matching wainscoting, a 'hidden door" leading to the gym, two new set of stairs, lighting above a "dropped" crown molding, hydronic radiant heat installed underneath a beautiful, large natural slate floor tile. On the outside, stone work to cover the concrete foundation, the wrapping of the metal posts holding the deck, as well as the covering of the exposed deck joists above completed the visual appeal of the exterior. Having three teenagers, this homeowner mission was to create an inviting place for them, a place where their friends would love to visit, rather than the other way around. Mission accomplished Barry.
